Can a mustang run in this class because it has a better cap 11.50 instead of 12.50? Why just a street compact class and not a gen class?

Has to be a 4 or 6 cyl so I guess if a mustang fit it could run in it, like a SVO or other 4 cyl turbo.

i suppose you could get a waiver if you take 2 plug wires off your motor and run you car in reverse .... j/k
actually the 11.50 class would fit me better , but you have the choice to see what classes are offered and then see where you fit in ...
if you had a true svo stang we would let you in, but no v8 foxes or stangs of any kind.

Why isn't the street compact class 12.5 and the street warrior class 11.5?
Not picking on any imports or anything because many can beat my car but just wondering?

The street warrior class is 10.00 - 13.99 :? The street intimidator class is 12.5 and its because 12.5 is a good average car class and there is a 10.5 class so 11.5 would be to many classes and would be overkill I think.

what are the average ET's for the Street compact and Pro Compact class
Where would a mid to high 9 sec car fit in? I have the requirements for both classes
I dont want to be out classed

pro compact is for you then. this class is a 11.50 index class. cant go faster than 11.50

I am still working on what cars will be legal to run the compact classes. I have been getting alot of quetions on what cars will be able to run. Many people think that a Grand National and a typhoon syclone should be able to run this class. Street Compact and Pro Compact are for those cars of sport compact origin, a mustang is a pony car even if it was a 4cyl to begin with. If we allow a SVO to run then someone with a turbo 6cyl firbird will want to run in the compact classes and then it just becomes another indexed class that will be open to all cars.
I will have to check with Phil on this one and get back to you.
Thanks

RossSound like your SKEERED of rwd domestics, TYPICAL!!! J/k
BTW a fox mustang is technically a compact car by NTSA standards so Id be willing to at least let them plead thier case, especially a true svo 2.3 turbo, also I dont see a prob with v6 turbo domestics either because theyre actually a heavier car than a SRT4 or comparable import 6 cyl import, such as a supra or 350z so basically your saying any 4 or 6 cyl as long as its not a domestic rwd. And I thought I was closed minded, a wag of the finger to you MR Ross. :x

I know a couple guys with GN's and older 4 cyl and 6 cyl domestic cars that hang out at some of the bars in my little home town. i DARE someone to walk up to them and tell them their car is a compact car. I will sit outside and wait for you to come flying through the window with a cue stick stuck in your gut.

I think your missing my point, thats like imports being banned from street fighter or warrior or any other clas for that matter, and not basing it on whether or not they actually fit, but excluding them solely because theyre imports. This is gonna sound politically incorrect, and Im sure its gonna ruffle some feathers even though its not intended to, but Im gonna say it anyway. It seems like the sport compact crowd wants to be respected and thought of as a legitimate force in racing, as long as they dont have to play by the same rules and compete with domestics, its like they want to be included, but want the standards to be seperate, it befuddles me they always claim to be superior to domestics, but when its time to prove it theres always something that they say isnt fair. A perfect example was the Pinks episode 2 weeks ago. It was supposed to be a Import vs Domestic shootout with a civic with a built motor and turbo against a LT1 Transam. Every race the Civic asked for more and More Lengths up to 20 lengths and still lost. First of all if your there trying to legitimately represent imports build a car and represent yourself accordingly. Second if you need to ask for 20 lengths adder to adder then you shouldnt even be there in the first place. I really dont see the difference between an svo mustang, or GN, or Syclone, and a supra or RX7, 350z, and so on. Theyre all 4 or 6 cyl adder cars just like the rules that YOU created stipulated. Everyone knows there are flying sport compacts out there so if thats the flag you choose to carry hold it high, dont hide behind it, you cant have it both ways.

Before this thing gets into a big arguement, I have some import boys that will be more then happy to go play with the v-8's in the series, I being one of them.
The compact classes are for those of sport compact origin meaning, civics, cavys, neons, and other small cars. The cars that will be on the list is coming right off the list set by the NHRA in their sport compact class. The biggest car they consider sport compact is a grand am. A mustang is not on this list and it will not be on the IMSM list. You say imports claim to be better then domestics, but those are for those ricers who think a fart can is going to get them into the 13's. I call these guys cheezers cause that is what they are. Their are many sport compact guys that would love to race a v-8 and would prefer to run a v-8 and then there are some who would rather just race a import, it is driver choice. I dont mind racing a v-8 or anything else. So i get beat by a v-8 car. Yeah i am boosted but like the old saying is there is no replacement for displacement but if I hang with you I feel just as good, if i beat you i feel even better.
If you have any questions about the compact classes please pm me
Thanks

Again I think you missed the point, its not really about this being fast or that being fast, its about inclusion or exclusion. Theres nothing in the rules about a domestic rwd being excluded yet you say a mustang cant run even if it fits the rules, or even a Syclone which is a single adder COMPACT pickup. I realize the class is geared toward the sport compact crowd, but to exclude a car that fits the rules wouldnt be right. Like I said its just like me saying a sport compact cant run SI because it doesnt belong, and to go back to street compact. In my opinion if it fits within the rules it can run.

Why are you getting so pissed off with this?? Are you planning on racing in street compact??
I have posted this series up in other forums and for some reason or another people have gotten something to say about street compact. My biggest question is why? Why do people feel the need to argue when a compact class is formed and get pissed when their car is not on the list?? Are people afraid to run in other classes and feel that they have a better chance against a compact car. So a mustang is considered a compact car by some governing body, but the truth is it is a pony car not a tuner car. Maybe I should change the name to street tuner and pro tuner so there is no misunderstanding that a mustang, camaro, or any other form of non sport compact car is allowed.
the rules are simple, if you car is not on the list then it dont run. If you dont like it there are several other classes that you can compete in. I am not out there to please everyone and if people dont like the rules then tough, rules are rules.
As for my comment that speaks for itself, there are some of my friends who you have raced against that are going to run other classes, and not just street compact. If they feel they have a better chance in another class they are going to run it and I hope that anyone else who feels the same way does it to.
The series slogan is "if you build it you can race it" and that is what we are here for. build a car and race it in a class that you think you will do good in. I am competing in sport compact just for the fact that my car is to inconsistant to run brackets, and i feel i have a better chance at winning in street compact.
Within the week i will have the cars that are allowed to compete in the compact classes. If you car is not on the list then tough. This is the same list that is coming from the NHRA that will be modified. I feel that there are some cars on thier list that dont belong and others that do. For example a pathfinder is on the list. That is a decent size SUV not a compact car or truck. If a syclone fits cause its a s-10 style truck then it will compete. The funny thing is that a s-10 nor sonoma is on the NHRA list but it wil more then likely be on the IMSM list.
When the list comes out I hope that it will open some eyes on what the series is going for. Phil and myself are working hard to improve and grow the series and ask taht you give it some time so you can see what we are doing. We are going to be improveing the series year after year and hope that teh racers out there can understand that.
Thanks
Ross

Im not pissed, I just dont like the exclusion factor. And Im not worried about being competitive (OBVIOUSLY). I think a list for any of the classes were running this year is overkill. I do have an employee that has a ranger with a vortech and hes looking for a class, but no I have ZERO intention of running any sport tuner/compact/fwd class myself... :)

If your employee has a v-6 ranger it will be allowed to run street compact due to the fact that the ranger is a classed as a small truck. same goes for s-10's and sonomas and even tundras
